Portraits are a recent addition to my work and are mainly inspired by the children supported by Mad 4 Africa. These are mainly oil on canvas and oil pastels on paper of children who are cared for by the charity. As I make progress on the series, I am learning more about the children in Muganza, their needs and how they cope. These specially created works will be shown along with my other recent paintings in An evening of Art by Suchi Chidambaram in aid of Mad 4 Africa. 15% of all painting sales will be donated to their project.

Mixed media is a fairly new series for me, where I'm collaborating with photographer John Pheasant to create works that combine my oil paintings with John’s original photographs, to create an image that challenges the viewer’s imagination for seeking to find or lose the border between photograph and painting.
This has been an exciting departure as there have been new challenges to deal with as we explore and experiment with different surfaces: fine art paper, canvas and metallic surfaces like aluminium and dibond.
Some of these works will be exhibited in the current exhibition: A Tale of Two Southwarks, from January to April 2018
